Rankings and Reviews Methodology

Financial Sumo publishes rankings, comparisons and reviews to help readers understand financial products and services. This page explains how we select, evaluate and update ranked or reviewed items.

We review products across banking, savings, cards, lending, brokerages, insurance, tax tools and related finance services. Evaluation can include relevance, transparency, pricing, feature depth, usability, availability, safety, product fit, data quality and update frequency.

Our sources include official company information, public databases, product documentation, pricing pages, regulatory materials, research reports and original editorial analysis. Not all rankings use a numerical score. Some are ordered through editorial assessment based on disclosed criteria.

Paid relationships do not determine editorial ranking position. Sponsored visibility, where offered, is labeled and does not change editorial recommendations. Rankings are informational and should be used alongside direct product verification by the reader.
